WHY LISTEN TO ME?

I've spent my entire life on the ocean. I don't remember not fishing. I derive my living as a sustainable hook-and-line fisherman, private guide, stage speaker and writer.

The past two decades I've focused my efforts on big fish in small boats. Local coast, offshore and all the islands in the backyard.

I grew up in the San Diego sportboat and long range fleet, private charter and tournament yacht circuit. After 10 years in the mortgage biz, I left in 2013 to pursue a big fish, small boat niche. Extensive experience running & fishing big boats and skiffs at every island hotspot Channel Islands to the Rivilla Gigedos. I have deep respect for the ocean and it's creatures.

I've starred on Inside Sportfishing on FOX, been a subject and/or writer for publications Western Outdoor News, Pacific Coast Sportfishing, The Bight, Sport Fishing Magazine, Baja Life, and Instagram & Facebook.

Founded Skool of Savvy October 2025 to help anglers acheive inshore & pelagic big-game goals.

Tournament record 62.5 lb WSB at the Western Outdoor News Catalina Island White Seabass Championship. Blessed with a 2nd place and a win at SoCal's most prestigeous inshore tournament.
